1970 Plymouth Fury Convertible

As of 23 JUL 96, I'm the proud owner of a 1970 Plymouth Fury convertible. It's currently (mostly) white, with a 318 engine, automatic transmission, and green interior.

As of 21 AUG 02, I am no longer the owner of this car, Andy Hornback is. I have yet to get around to updating this page so it doesn't look like I'm trying to sell the car, but I will eventually.

The sad thing is I really haven't updated this page much, but it's still keeping up with this "restoration" I keep talking about. I've not had much time to work on it. And now it's time to sell it. It's a 318/automatic car, located in Atlanta, Georgia. The body is a restoration project, but the mechanicals are in pretty good shape-- good enough, in fact, that the car has made a number of road trips throughout the southeast in the time I've owned it (four years.) I wound up having to delay the sale as it got pressed back into service as a daily driver for a bit.
It's certainly not perfect. It can be turned into a pretty nice highway cruiser with some work, but I don't think it's "restorable" to showroom condition.

I can take pictures of any part of the car you'd like to see.

Notable issues include:

First, a shot of the front of the car.

What you can't see from this picture is that the valence piece that sits between the grill and the bottom valence is missing. The hood's got surface rust (you can see it in the corners here) and the grill could stand rechroming.

The left side:

More surface rust. What you can't see is that this car's been hit in this side. The damage has been repaired, but without cutting out a good chunk of the left rear and welding a new one on, it won't ever be "showroom". Also, one of the chrome pieces for the window is not there; there's about a half inch gap between the front and rear window. The piece comes with the car-- it dropped down in the gap and I've never managed to fish it out. :)

Details of the rust on the left:

The bottom picture, those objects sticking to the chrome are actually masking tape. Not to worry. :)

Right side:

Pretty much what it looks like. The red is primer, not rust.

Details:

And the back:

The rear valence is in need of replacement. The bumper isn't curved correctly-- the car's been hit back here. There's a CB antenna mount drilled into the trunk.
